There’s a pirates theme to this year’s Godalming Town Show and Carnivalon Saturday (June 3rd), so the town will be awash with eyepatches, hooks, ragged trousers – and no doubt a plethora of parrots.
The annual show, organised by the town’s Round Table, takes place on The Burys Field, and is preceded by a noisy, joyous carnival procession made up of floats from local schools, businesses and organisations, that snakes through the High?Street and onto the field, watched by large crowds who pack into the town for the spectacle.
Godalming Round Table is urging locals and visitors alike to:?“Dig out your cutlass and eyepatch and join us for a day of adventure at the Burys Cove. There will be a pirate-themed Carnival parade, live music and entertainment, food stalls, beer tent and lots more!”
There will be entertainment throughout the day in the central arena, plus a whole host of stalls around the field, offering games of skill and chance, items for sale, information on local groups, and a whole range of tempting foodstuffs to try and buy.
The carnival will start at noon and finish at approximately 1pm, while the stalls on the Burys Field open at noon and will trade until 5pm. Live entertainment will run throughout the afternoon, starting at 1pm, and finish at 7pm.
